The iconic City2Surf race is set to rock Sydney’s shores once again this year. With 53 years of heritage under its belt, it’s become the largest fun run in the world. 14 picturesque kilometres all the way from Sydney’s CBD to Bondi Beach. Walk, sprint, jog – however it is you like to do things – do it with hundreds of others in the name of charity.

Catering for the masses, City2Surf has the broadest audience of any event in the fitness calendar. Whether you’re dressed to the nines in your fancy dress finery, or sporting your very best running gear, you’ll fit right in with the crowd. And you’ll look most complete when you've got your finish line bling.

Known for being iconic and achievable, it’s something we had to get involved with, which is why we’re now the official performance supplement partner for City2Surf.

What is City2Surf?

City2Surf is more than your traditional fun run. For a start, it’s the largest in the world. Second, it's dubbed Sydney’s biggest dance party – good vibes and great moves all around. Third, the run starts in Sydney’s CBD and ends at Bondi Beach

And better yet, it’s all for charity. Since 2008, when the fundraising tally first began, the participants have raised over $55 million for charity.

When is City2Surf?

Lace up your trainers, grab your mates and head across to the Sydney’s CBD on the 11th August 2024. 14 kilometers later, you’ll be running into the ocean, heading for a spot of lunch, or preparing for a few drinks.

Entries go on sale from the 27th March, but keep an eye out as we have some exciting competitions coming your way to be in with a chance to win them.

How to get race ready with Myprotein

As the official partners, we’re here to support your nutrition on and before race day. We’ve got plenty of snacks to provide you with a post-race pick-me-up, washed down with a shaker of Clear Whey to help kickstart your recover.

FAQs

Why is it called a fun run?

It's what it says on the tin. A run that’s fun. Ultimately there’s no level of competition, you don’t need to complete the race in a certain time, you can just take it as it comes and enjoy the ride. That’s not to say you can’t be competitive yourself. But the idea is that it’s accessible for all who want to take part, with no pressure.

What are the benefits of joining a fun run?

Besides raising money for charity, a fun run is an excellent way to get moving. Running can be a bit of a lonely sport, so bringing together a big group of people, and even taking part with your friends, is the perfect way to bring some life back to your exercise routine.

And, beyond that, without the element of competition, it’s a great way to try your hand at running a longer distance.

How can running be fun?

Grab your mates, deck yourself from head-to-toe in fancy dress, and take in the sights as you run from Sydney's CBD to Bondi Beach. Known affectionately as Sydney’s biggest dance party, you’d be hard pressed to not have a good time.

How do you train for a fun run?

It's a fun run, but it doesn’t mean it’s a walk in the park. You’re going to want to do a little bit of training before the big day. Check out this training plan.

Are fun runs competitive?

Generally, fun runs aren’t competitive. Not to sound clichéd, but it’s the taking part that counts. City2Surf aims to raise money for worthwhile charities, while also hosting one of the biggest fitness events in Sydney’s calendar.

Take home message

Make sure to set your reminders for the 27th March 2024 to enter this year’s City2Surf. As soon as your place is confirmed, locate your fancy dress costume, and prepare for the highlight of your August.
