The biggest event in the strongman calendar finished with yet another victory for Tom Stoltman. Of course. Despite this year’s World’s Strongest Man featuring some of the biggest names in strongman — including former winner Brian Shaw and Tom’s brother, Luke — Tom still stormed to victory, taking home the crown for a second year running. He predicted he would win, and he was right.

And he didn’t just win. He won by 10.5 points. He could have skipped an event and still won. That’s monumental.

Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall caught up with Luke Stoltman in the immediate aftermath of Tom’s victory. And no surprise from the world’s most wholesome brothers, Luke couldn’t have been prouder of his brother. At points he was lost for words. He seemed to have something in his eye too.

“You know how hard it is to win World’s Strongest Man. Tom has just done it twice in two years, back-to-back, with the most stacked line-up.“Three years ago … I was offshore on oil rigs, and now I've just witnessed my baby brother winning back-to-back titles ... Life sometimes doesn’t feel real. I'm so proud of Tom.“To me he’s one of the most inspirational people I've ever met. I’m just so proud, and I'm so lucky to call him my brother.”

On Instagram after his win, Tom expressed gratitude to every member of his team — his coach, his nutritionist, his filming team, and his wife — his biggest supporter.

He also gave a special shoutout to Luke — who himself gave a strong performance, breaking the flintstone barbell world record by pressing a massive 212kg.

Take home message

Yet another strong performance from the World’s Strongest Brothers. A World’s Strongest Man win plus a new world record win isn’t bad going.

Now Tom’s planning to take some well-earned time off with his wife. That’s after celebrating, of course.
